Folien Manufaktur is a family-run wrap shop in Kiedrich, in the Rheingau wine region just west of Wiesbaden. Many of our customers are U.S. service members and their families stationed at Wiesbaden Army Airfield – you are in good company.
Why service members drive out to Kiedrich
You will be here for two, three, maybe four years – and then the car goes home, gets sold, or is turned in. That is exactly the situation where paint protection film and removable wraps make the most sense: the paint underneath stays factory-fresh, and everything comes off cleanly when you PCS.
We speak English, we know the paperwork questions that come up with USAREUR-registered vehicles, and we have wrapped everything from Mustangs and F-150s to Teslas and Porsches with U.S. specs. Left-hand-drive, right-hand-drive, US-spec lighting – none of that is a problem for film.
What you get is a small, specialised workshop: we only do film – no oil changes, no body shop, no car wash on the side. Every project is photographed and documented in our showroom, so you can see how your model looks with a given wrap or tint before you decide.

We are on the north bank of the Rhine, right off the A66 – the road that connects Wiesbaden and Frankfurt with the Rheingau. Address: An der Ankermühle 3a, 65399 Kiedrich (put “Folien Manufaktur” into Google Maps).
Clay Kaserne / Wiesbaden Army Airfield
About 15 minutes: A66 west towards Rüdesheim, exit Eltville, then follow signs to Kiedrich. Hainerberg and Aukamm housing: 12–15 minutes.
Mainz-Kastel (McCully Barracks area) & Mainz
About 15–20 minutes via the Schiersteiner Brücke and the A66.
Frankfurt / Offenbach
About 35–40 minutes on the A66. Frankfurt Airport (Gateway Gardens): about 30 minutes via A3 / A66.
Kaiserslautern / Ramstein / Baumholder
About 1 h 15 min via A63 / A60 / A66. Worth combining with a day in the Rheingau – we can plan a two-day slot with a loaner car.

What we do
Paint Protection Film (PPF)
Clear, self-healing film on the front end or the whole car. Protects against rock chips, road grit and door dings – and keeps resale value up when you sell or turn the car in. Packages from approx. €1,600 (front) to approx. €4,900 (full car).
Color-change wraps
Full or partial wraps in over 200 colors from 3M, Avery, Hexis and KPMF – satin, matte, gloss, chrome, carbon look. Fully removable, no residue, no damage to the paint. Typically 3–5 working days.
Window tint (legal in Germany)
Rear side windows and rear windshield in 65 %, 85 % or 95 %. Our films carry the German ABG type approval – no inspection needed, you get the certificate to keep in the car. Front side windows and windshield stay clear by law. Usually done the same day.
Chrome delete & accents
Black-out chrome trim, gloss-black roofs, mirror caps, stripes, hood decals – popular on Teslas, Mustangs, Chargers and Jeeps.
Ceramic coating & detailing
Ceramic coating on paint, wrap or PPF, hand wash and paint correction – so the car looks the way it should on the day you hand it over.
Vehicle graphics for your business
Lettering and logos for the side hustle, the unit's van or your spouse's business – designed, printed and installed in-house.
Questions we get from U.S. customers
Is window tint legal in Germany, and will it cause trouble at inspection?
Yes, if the film has a German type approval (ABG) and only the rear side windows and rear windshield are tinted – that is exactly what we do. You receive the ABG certificate; keep it in the glove box. Front side windows and the windshield must stay untinted in Germany, no matter what your home state allows. Tinted rear windows are not an issue at the USAREUR/German inspection.
Can I take the wrap or PPF off before I PCS or turn in a lease?
Yes. Quality cast films from 3M, Avery, Hexis or SunTek come off cleanly – no residue, no paint damage – even after years. Many customers have us remove the wrap shortly before shipping the car home or returning a lease; the paint underneath is usually in better shape than an unwrapped car of the same age.
Do I need to change the color in the vehicle registration?
For German-registered cars we recommend updating the color entry at the registration office after a full color-change wrap (a quick appointment). For USAREUR-registered vehicles, check with your vehicle registration office – requirements have changed over the years. Partial wraps, PPF, tint and chrome delete do not change the registered color.
How do payment and VAT work?
We accept cash, EC/debit and bank transfer; credit cards on request. VAT-relief forms (VAT form / Abwicklungsschein) can be used for eligible personnel – please tell us before we write the invoice and bring the form to drop-off, as it cannot be applied afterwards.
How far in advance should I book?
Window tint: usually within one to two weeks. PPF and full wraps: two to four weeks, longer in spring. Send us the make, model and what you have in mind via the form and we will come back with a quote and available dates – in English.

Vollfolierung in wasabi Green und Schwarze Folierung des Grills, zusätzlich wurde Lackschutzfolie an allen schwarz glänzenden Elementen, der Motorhaube und dem Grill angebracht.
